What an idea....Green fashion that is well traveled!

Heather English's idea for her company came to her when she was floating down a creek on an inner tube in Colorado. She thought, “I need a new handbag, but I am a hardcore vegetarian. I want something that is fashionable and invincible—but not made from leather,” Heather explains. “I didn’t find what I was looking for, so I went to McGuckin's, a favorite local hardware store, bought some tools and started my own personal sweatshop—with me doing the sweating.”  English Retreads hit the road with lots of tread in 2001.

English Retreads is supplied by truck stops in the Boulder, Colorado area with used inner tubes. Each inner tube could have traveled more than 60,000 miles before it is used in the unique purses, bags, belts, and wallets.

"Just think of all the places these tubes have been, and now it's your turn to add to their miles and adventures." says Heather!
